Plava Voda Regional Water Supply System

The project envisages construction of water supply system from Plava Voda through Novi Travnik, Vitez and Busovača to Zenica.

The project foresees construction of intake structures at the Plava Voda spring, together with the main transport pipeline (cca 33 km). The project also includes the construction of supporting facilities to enable connections to the existing water distribution networks of five local governments. Parallel financing for this component is provided by the CEB, while additional grant financing is provided by the Government of Sweden to finance complementary investments in reductions of water leakages in the existing networks in the five partner localities.

The project also aims to successfully implement urgently needed measures for reduction of water losses and thus maximize the benefits of high-quality water supply system. Furthermore, through implementation of functional and operational improvements (FOPIP), institutional capacity of participating public utility companies will be strengthened.

Project start has been delayed, due to non-effectiveness of EBRD loan.
